Well that’s true, but it cuts both ways: the Occupy movement has been the first time in my generation that white Americans are being made to give a shit on a visceral, physical level about police/corporate/state brutality and corruption. Now we’re being made to care about state-backed corporate information control. So that’s a good thing, but your teacher is right in that it points out the aw-shucks resignation of the American people towards literally everything else. And more than resignation, their enthusiastic acceptance.
