    I want to add to this extremely well-written point that Christina Hendricks is no more “real” than Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, or any other plasticized Hollywood femme.  Her “curvy shape” is thanks to large breast implants, as demonstrated in this photo: Her breast implants reveal themselves in the extremely high profile and squared-off appearance of the upper border of the cleavage.  Yeah, she’s lovely, but the loveliness is a conceit of modern surgical science.  I’m guessing the nose has been done, too, judging by its overly-sculpted, almost geometric appearance. Holding her up as a champion of “real women” is laughable. cardiograms: I feel the need to address something that really, really, bothers me. Don’t get me wrong, I think Christina Hendricks is a gorgeous woman. Clearly, she is beautiful, anyone with eyeballs can see that. The “return of the voluptuous” is not what bothers me. I agree, that every body type should be celebrated, because everyone has different preferences. What bothers me is this quite prominent attitude in the general population toward thin women - this notion that they are somehow freakish and unnatural. I am very small (and far from unhealthy) at 5’4” and 110 lbs. Does this mean that because I have a small A cup as opposed to a D cup that I am not a real woman? I don’t get offended by much, but this notion that skinny women are somehow LESS THAN HUMAN is fucking insulting. Just as insulting as it would be to an overweight person being treated this way. I am positive you meant no harm by this post, cavesoflilith, you seem like a very nice girl. But you contradict your declaration for glamorizing every size in the same post. cavesoflilith: I love this so much. FINALLY! A REAL WOMAN! Please fashion world.. please come back to reality and not solely stick to stick thin girls (not saying it’s not beautiful in it’s own way, because to me it is — EVERY size should be glamorized - in a healthy manner of course; this goes both ways) Thank You.
